My name is Amira, aka @YogiEscape, and I'm an avid yoga practitioner. When I started university, I was battling clinical Anxiety & Depression. In my 2nd year I started to take classes in Psychology and ended switching majors from Computer Science to Psychology.
I dedicated my time to specifically learn more about Health Psychology and how I could improve my own health and well being. I committed to practicing yoga in November 2015. This helped me start to bridge connection between breath, mind, and body. It taught me awareness which travels into every aspect of my life.
To me, Yoga is a state of mind that I bring to everything I do. I built the goal of yoga from using SMART goals and have stuck with it for more than 4 years.
We all have it in our heads that we want to do something new, to start a new project, start a new business, start eating healthier, begin a new exercise program, write a book, etc., though we all think it, we somehow find it so difficult to start!! We feel paralyzed and stuck into our old routine, or we simply, honestly, don't know where to begin!!
